Every year in the first or second week of September, Apple has been holding an event where it unveils the new iPhones. The iPad and more recently the Apple Watch have also become a part of this event but the focus is on the iPhone. This year, although the event has been confirmed, it looks like the world may not get a glimpse into the new iPhones. Instead, the event could be all about the Watch Series and the new iPad.
Rumour has it that Apple could launch not just one but two new Watch Series models. One of them is supposed to be an entry-level Watch targeted at first-time buyers to give them an entry into the Apple ecosystem and get acquainted with the Watch. The Watch Series 6 — expected to get new features — is also supposed to see the light of the day on September 15.
The other likely big launch is the new variant of the iPad Air. Apple, as per rumours, is set to give the iPad Air the look of its more expensive iPad Pro. Other features are still unknown but the iPad could arrive on September 15.
The big question, however, remains whether the iPhone will be launched. Speculation has that Apple could launch four iPhones this year and they may come in batches of two. The iPhone is the marquee product for Apple and its unlikely that it’s not the star of the show at any event — virtual or in-person. So while Apple has kept its annual September date with its fans and customers, the wait for the new iPhone may just go beyond that.
