NEW DELHI: Earthquake of magnitude 4.7 hit near Delhi causing tremors in the national capital region and north India.
According to NCS, the quake occurred at 7 pm at a depth of 35 kilometres.
The tremors of the quake were also felt in Delhi-NCR, triggering panic among people.
There were no immediate reports of loss of life or property, PTI reported.
Earlier today, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 hit near Champhai in Mizoram. On June 25, an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 struck south of Champhai in Mizoram.
On May 29, Delhi was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 with an epicentre in Rohtak, Haryana.
On May 15, Delhi was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 hit 13km NW of New Delhi and earlier on May 10 a medium-intensity earthquake of magnitude 3.4 had hit the capital with an epicentre near Northeast Delhi’s Wazirpur area.”
The same area was also the epicentres of the earthquakes of magnitudes 3.5 and 2.7 respectively which hit on April 12 and April 13.
