NEW DELHI: Central forces deployed at Ram Temple site in Ayodhya have an additional task — to protect over a quintal of precious metals, including hundreds of gold/silver bars and bricks.
Ever since SC paved the way for construction of Ram Temple, devotees have been sending gold and silver including ornaments, bricks and bars for use in the construction of the temple, work for which will be launched by PM Modi with the ground-breaking ceremony on August 5.
Clueless about how to use gold and silver and concerned about their safety, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust looking after temple construction, made an appeal, urging devotees to stop sending gold and silver and instead contribute money.
General secretary of the Trust and senior VHP functionary Champat Rai said in a video message, “We have already shared details of the bank account in which devotees can make a contribution for the work.”
Although, PM Modi will use five silver bricks to launch construction on August 5, but that is symbolic.
