Google has officially launched the Pixel 4a smartphone. Google also announced that it will be launching a 5G-enabled Pixel 4a variant along with the Pixel 5 with 5G later this year .Google is pitching the Pixel 4a as an improved version of the Pixel 3a at an affordable price.

The Pixel 4a comes at a starting price of $349 which translates to around Rs 26,250 in India. Having said that Google is yet to reveal the exact price of the Pixel 4a in India. As the far as the 5G variant of the Pixel 4a is concerned, it will cost $499. There is no word as to whether the 5G variant will come to India or not.

Google is offering three month free trials of YouTube Premium, Google Play Pass and Google One with the Pixel 4a. Buyers in the US can pre-order the Pixel 4a on the Google Store and on Google Fi. It will be available to customers in US on August 20. The Pixel 4a is expected to be avaialble in India in October on Flipkart.

The Pixel 4a bets big on camera and claims to offer a similar camera experience when compared to the Pixel 4, featuring HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Night Sight with astrophotography capabilities and fused video stabilisation.

As for the camera, there is just one lens with 12.2 MP dual-pixel sensor, 1.4 μm pixel width, Auto-focus and dual-pixel phase detection. There’s F1.7 aperture along with optical and electronic image stabilisation. On the front, there is an 8MP camera with F2.0 aperture. There’s support for 4K video recording at 30FPS as well.

The Pixel 4a comes in ‘Just Black’ colour option with a 5.8-inch OLED punch hole display. It has a matte finish at the back side. The Pixel 4a runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor with Titan M security module for on-device security along with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. There is only one RAM and memory variant for the Pixel 4a. The device features a 3140 mAh battery and Google promises one day battery life. Google is offering an 18W fast charger out-of-the-box.The Pixel 4a is a single SIM phone with support for eSIM. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack along with USB Type-C port.
