NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch BS6-ready S-Cross on August 5, official sources have confirmed TOI.
S-Cross is the last car from the house of Maruti Suzuki to become BS6 compliant. The car was also showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and was expected to be launched in April, but pandemic played as the spoilsport.
With Maruti Suzuki phasing out all diesel engines, it is almost certain that the BS6 compliant version will sport a petrol engine, much like the BS6-compliant Vitara Brezza.
The K-series engine makes 107 PS and 138 Nm, and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox or 4-speed automatic. As per the sources, the new S-cross will sport a mild-hybrid technology in only automatic versions.
The BS6-compliant S-cross is likely to be priced between Rs 8.5 lakh-Rs11.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
