BANGALORE:Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Thursday gave a sneak peek into the theme of the launch campaign – “Respect”, for the soon to be launched Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Booking for the Urban Cruiser will commerce by the end of August, TKM said in a release.
Talking to TOI, Naveen Soni, senior VP (sales & marketing) of Toyota Kirloskar Motors, said. “The Glanza has helped us in getting a large number of first-time customers into Toyota’s fold, and with the Urban Cruiser, we are confident of making a bigger say in the sub-Rs 10 lakh market as demand here remains strong.”
Urban Cruiser, the youngest SUV in the company’s line-up of SUVs, is an offering to those who aspire to own a Toyota SUV at a young age, Toyota said. Urban Cruiser launch is scheduled for this festive season.
The theme of the campaign stems from the target audience’s aspiration for early success in life. The SUV segment that has gained much popularity due to its body type and superior road presence commands respect amongst today’s youth. Toyota Urban Cruiser offers an early entry into the Toyota SUV family and comes with Toyota’s global standards of sales & after-sales services. The theme of respect resonates well with the youth who believe that respect doesn’t come with age but with individual and bold choices.
The all-new Urban Cruiser is built for today’s young achievers who are aspirational and have earned respect for their bold choices. These discerning individuals are versatile, bold, adventurous and known for taking the road less travelled just like the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Urban Cruiser will enter the B-segment, where it would compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
Toyota has been sourcing the Baleno hatchback from Maruti Suzuki and sells the model under the name Glanza. The model-sharing relationship stems from the agreement that Toyota had signed with Maruti’s Japanese parent, and its compatriot, Suzuki around the year 2018. Urban Cruiser, based on Vitara Brezza, is the second product of the JV.
